Selection
There is no "one-process-fits-all" when it comes to selection. Each position is unique, and so the selection process should be tailored specifically for that position.
However, there are many selection tools to choose from, and a good mix will ensure applicants are tested against a variety of situations.
Traditionally, selection processes involve an application, panel interview and reference check. But will this tell you all you need to know? How about trying role playing or a work sample? If you are interviewing a writer, getting them to proof a document or re-write a speech will tell you more about their writing abilities then talking to them in an interview.
