Work / life balance
The Queensland public service recognises that achieving a balance between work and personal life can produce a happier and more effective workforce.
Our society has changed in a variety of ways, for example:
- more diversity in family structures and a growing multicultural population
- more diversity of attitudes and expectations about the roles of men and women in both work and personal life
- higher participation of women in the workforce, education and training
- an ageing population, and
- understanding family responsibilities extend to caring for family members with a disability, chronically ill family members as well as children.
