In a quality workplace, you will find:

- a safe and healthy physical and psycho-social work environment
- good opportunities for work-life balance
- everyone is treated fairly
- freedom from harassment and discrimination
- good organisational design and efficient and effective work practices
- the right materials and equipment to do the job properly
- a strong customer service ethic (for internal and external customers alike), and
- fair and reasonable pay compared with others doing similar work.
A Quality public service workplaces framework and information kit was developed to help Queensland public service departments and offices to:
- encourage high levels of productivity, performance and innovation
- improve organisational capacity to meet new priorities and challenges
- enhance the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery and
- improve attraction and retention of employees and management of employee expenses.
